Linda Labrake's hip pain was so bad, she could barely walk to her car. "The pain was excruciating," she says. Once an avid walker, she enjoyed a very active lifestyle. But that all changed as her hip pain became worse over time.
Today she happily declares that she mows the lawn, snow blows the driveway, and rakes leaves. "Anything that needs doing!" she says.
Rather than attempting physical therapy at home, her orthopaedic clinician recommended staying at Unity Hospital for her physical therapy. "It was excellent. They have excellent therapists there." she says. "I loved everybody. I got a wonderful breakfast every day - basically whatever you wanted, which was amazing to me. The rehabilition and nursing staff just seemed to care about their patients."
The surgery couldn't have come too soon. Her husband recently had shoulder surgery and luckily now she can take care of him as he goes through rehab.
