Eating Disorders Recovery Center (EDRC) of Western New York

The Eating Disorders Recovery Center (EDRC) of Western New York is one
of three centers supported by the New York State Department of Health.
The centers form an integrated network of specialists that provides a
full range of comprehensive services for individuals with eating
disorders and their families. This website provides information about
the center, referral information, local and national resources, and
information about eating disorders and educational and advocacy events.
Eating Disorders Peer-Led Self-Help Group: CARES (Connecting,
Acceptance, Recovery, & Empowerment)
CARES meets Sunday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Nazareth College
(Rochester, NY) in the Otto Schults Center. The group is free and open
to Nazareth College students and individuals over age 18 in the

Life Coaching Group - JOURNEY (Just One Person Understanding
Recovery Nurtures and Empowers You)
JOURNEY is a free (NY State Department of Health-funded) 10-week
beginning life coaching group located at Unity Health System in
Rochester, NY. It is designed for women over age 18 who are working on
recovery and are ready and wanting to experience life without an eating
disorder. Group is facilitated by Cindy J. Bitter, a certified
professional life coach who has recovered from an eating disorder. The
group focuses on developing and practicing of life skills and strategies
that support and promote recovery, healthy choices, and lifestyle. Call

NEDA is the largest not-for-profit organization in the United States working to prevent eating disorders and provide treatment referrals to those who feel extremely dissatisfied with body image and weight.

AED partners with families and consumers throughout the world to ensure
