“You truly feel like you’ve made a difference in someone’s life every day here. ”
Christine Ross, R.N., Park Ridge Living Center Transitional Care Unit
“When I was just 14, I was diagnosed with cancer. I was the youngest of nine children, and there was no cancer in the family. I saw how much the nurses did for all of us while my whole family was in turmoil. From then on, I knew I wanted to be a nurse: I never considered anything else.
I’ve worked at other facilities, but as a nurse at Unity now, I know that my voice is heard—I feel like my experience and opinions are valued. I get feedback and I know that I’ll learn and grow here. I have good relationships with my co-workers, and find the setting very personal—it’s not an “assembly line” hospital. I see a lot of effort put into trying to make this a good place to work.
You truly feel like you’ve made a difference in someone’s life every day here. I’m very pleased, and I plan on staying here until I retire!”
