Jane McCormack, R.N., M.S.N.
Interim Vice President, Nursing/Patient Care Services
Senior Director of Nursing and Patient Care Services Unity Hospital

Jane has been with Unity Hospital for over 20 years. Starting in the Emergency Center in a leadership role, Jane has applied these skills to her current position, providing support and oversight to all departments within the division of Nursing and Patient Care Services. Working with managers and directors on quality and operational initiatives, she also serves as the division’s liaison for financial and human resources issues. Jane has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts/Boston, and a Master of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College.

What inspires you to provide health care how it should be? 
“Positive patient experiences reinforce and inspire a sense of pride in the organization. Positive feedback from patients lets the staff know that their efforts and dedication to quality patient care is truly appreciated.”

What is your favorite thing about working at Unity?
"The team of people I work with everyday. They are so caring with their patients and for each other, and work to present Unity in the best possible light.”


Anne McCullough, M.S., R.N.
Director of Clinical Practice, Unity Hospital


Anne has been with Unity Hospital for 12 years and brings over 34 years of nursing experience. Anne is primarily responsible for the standardization of professional practice for acute care nursing areas. She holds a Masters of Science in Nursing.

What is your most memorable experience with a patient?
“Too many to pick just one, but, as an oncology nurse, it would have to be seeing a successful recovery, or a patient who may not be recovering, but, one who shares this acceptance freely with staff and family. I have always learned the most about life through patients.”

Who is one of your mentors and why? 
“My mom. She has unending patience, wisdom, and humor about all aspects of life that make it truly refreshing.”

Richard DuBois, R.N., B.B.A.
Senior Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services for Wegman Family Cottages and Unity Living Center


Richard directs the overall nursing and resident care services for 120 residents at both the Unity Living Center and the Park Ridge Living Center. With over 20 years experience, Richard has been with Unity since 1999 working in both acute care and long term care settings. Richard has completed a three year nursing program, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and is working toward his Master’s degree in Health Care Administration.

What is your favorite thing about working at Unity?
"Unity is a family. I enjoy coming to work each day and making a difference. It is a company that cares about their employees."

What is your most memorable experience with a patient?
“I once helped a woman deliver her baby, and she named the child after me.”

Colleen Klix, B.N., B.S.
Senior Director of Nursing and Resident Care Services, Edna Tina Wilson Living Center


Colleen brings over 40 years of nursing experience to Unity. She has always enjoyed working with older populations, and her focus has primarily been on Geriatric Nursing. She is responsible for the daily management of all nursing staff and general oversight of the recreational and social work departments. She oversees clinical practice for nursing, and manages quality improvement, infection control, and risk management programs for the department. Colleen holds an Associate’s degree in Nursing from Monroe Community College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Roberts Wesleyan College. 

What is your favorite thing about working at Unity?

“I felt for years that I was just drifting in my career, and from the day I walked into Edna Tina Wilson Living Center I felt as if I had a home. The more I discovered about Unity as a whole, the more certain I was that this was a feeling shared by many. I value the close collaboration and the wonderful team spirit that prevails throughout the different entities, and I have always felt privileged to be a part of Unity Health System.”

What is your most memorable experience with a resident?
 
“It is difficult for me to pinpoint one single experience from the countless people I have cared for during my 40-year career, but I know that there are many who I will never forget. I have numerous tender, inspirational, or humorous stories about my residents that are locked in my mental cache of treasures.”

Home and Community Based Services 

Jane Shukitis, R.N., B.S.N., M.P.A.

Jane has over 30 years of experience, most of which has been with Unity Health System. Coming from the acute care setting at Unity Hospital, she has been with Unity’s long term care and home care programs since 1992. As an administrative leader for Unity’s continuum of home and community-based services, Jane oversees a number of programs such as long term home health care, adult day care, care management, and non-medical in-home services such as companion care and housekeeping. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College, and a Masters degree in Public Administration/Health Care Concentration from SUNY Brockport.

What is your favorite thing about working at Unity? 
“It’s a family. There is a feeling of connectivity – a culture of being part of something special. Although we are a large organization of over 4,000 employees – there is a small-town feeling when you work here.”

Who is one of your mentors?
"Sandy MacWilliams, executive vice president, Unity Center for Aging, has been my boss for over 10 years. She has coached me in areas I need to develop, and always encourages me to grow my leadership skills. She allows me to take risks, and always has my back. It is great to have a boss who is both a friend and mentor.”


Barbara Gray, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.
Senior Director, Home Care Services


Barb has been with Unity Home and Community Based Services for 15 years. She oversees Unity’s home care programs and Unity’s non-medical in-home programs. She has over 35 years of nursing experience in Home Care and Psychiatric nursing, and is Home Health Aide trainer and Psychiatric and Community Health Nurse instructor. Barb has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University, and a Master’s degree in Management from Nazareth College.

What is your favorite thing about working at Unity?
“The people that I work with…Unity is a family and I am proud to be a part of the Unity family.”

Who is one of your mentors?
“I consider my mother and my father mentors. They always encouraged me to do my best at whatever I do, so that I can reach my full potential.”

Bobbi Jennings, R.N., B.S.N

Bobbi has over 37 years of nursing experience at Unity Hospital. She is an administrative liaison responsible for patient care and budgetary and financial performance. Bobbi is also in charge of compliance for overall practice operations. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. 

What is your most memorable experience with a patient?
“Too many to mention… anytime I was able to help a patient recover more quickly, elevate their pain/anxiety and return home in a timely manner.”

Who is one of your mentors and why?
Carolyn Vacanti R.N., was a director of nursing at St. Mary’s. She encouraged me to become a head nurse, to improve patient care and leadership.”
