Construction is underway on Unity at Brockport, an 18,000 square foot medical office building located in the Wegmans Plaza at the intersection of Routes 31 and 19. Of the 8,100+ people who live in Brockport, 5,000 are Unity patients. Many patients have requested that we create something “closer to home” for them. The new building will allow them to see the providers they currently are driving many miles to see, right in their own neighborhood.
What services will be in the building?
The Unity Ob/Gyn at Brockport practice and ACM Medical Laboratory patient service center, which have been located in Brockport for over 10 years, will be relocated to the new site.
We have created space for a one- or two-physician Primary Care office.
Medical specialty services in the following areas will be located here: Infectious Disease, Diabetes Care and Education, Neurology, Pulmonary, and Vascular.
To allow convenient access for patients who are seeing doctors in the building, we will also offer a small physical therapy area and basic imaging services from Borg and Ide.
Why is Unity expanding in Brockport?
Unity needs modern facilities and enough space for the offices we currently have in Brockport.
The expansion allows us to provide additional services that numerous physicians and patients who live in the Brockport area have requested. These patients now travel to Greece and other Unity locations for these services.
Brockport is designated by the federal government as having a shortage of health professionals. Bringing needed health care services to Brockport residents supports Unity’s longstanding mission to make a positive difference in the health and well-being of those we serve.
When will the building open?
We are planning to start seeing patients in the new building in early June 2012.
