In June of 2013, the completion of The Village at Unity's major expansion delivered the reality of a vision over ten years in the making. Beginning in early 2003, Unity senior housing began exploring the possibility of making enhancements to what was already Rochester's premier senior living community. After analyzing upcoming trends in the senior housing industry as well as listening to feedback from current and prospective residents. The Village broke ground on an ambitious expansion project that revolutionized how seniors in the Rochester area enjoy their retirement years.
The New Hamlet, a 40-apartment Assisted Living Residence,
opened in July, 2012.
Expanded level of care options is one of the highlights of the Village expansion. In July 2012, The Hamlet, Unity's brand-new, 40-apartment licensed assisted living residence opened its doors. The Hamlet combines exceptional dining, hospitality and recreation services with a skilled staff providing around-the-clock resident care services. The Hamlet offers studio and one-bedroom apartments as well as Premium apartments for couples.
The former site of The Village's Enriched Living Community opened as a
20-apartment memory care community in June 2013.

The Village at Unity opened its first ever Memory Care Community in June 2013. This assisted living level community provides increased support for elders diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Both the design and functionality of this new building as well as a specially trained staff provide area seniors struggling with the challenges of dementia with a pleasant, safe environment to thrive in.
