Guided by a Personal Health Coach
Improving your health can seem like an overwhelming task, especially if you have to do it alone. One of the great benefits of our Know Your Numbers program is that you have confidential phone access to a personal health coach who will meet with you at your convenience – days, nights or even weekends. And it’s free to you.
All IHS health coaches have advanced degrees in the health field with an average of 14 years of experience. They will guide you through up to eight courses designed to find the methods that suit you. This personalized approach makes it easier for you to make change that will last a lifetime.
Eight Goal-oriented Courses
Smoke-free for Life
You and your coach will explore different quitting techniques to find the one that works best for you. This course focuses on cessation aids and relapse prevention.
Diabetes Prevention and Control
You’ll learn how to make the right choice to control or prevent diabetes. This course helps you design an approach to exercise and nutrition that will work for you
Lifestyles for Successful Weight Loss
Instead of diets that are all but impossible to keep over the long term, this class presents a new approach to food that you can maintain for the rest of your life. By the end of this program, you’ll have reshaped your body and your eating habits.
Managing Cholesterol Levels
By the end of this program, you’ll have uncovered an individualized plan for reducing bad cholesterol (LDL), raising good cholesterol (HDL) and/or lowering triglycerides. The plan will include diet, exercise and possibly medication prescribed by your physician.
Managing and Preventing High Blood Pressure
This class combines learning the latest proven methods of lowering blood pressure through lifestyle changes with finding the ones that work for you. While you may still require medication, the right diet and exercise could help you reduce how much you need.
You and your health coach will review your current eating habits and set nutritional goals. You’ll learn practical strategies for meal planning, eating out or on the road and cooking for a family.
No matter what your current fitness level, you and your health coach will design a fitness routine to help you get and/or stay fit. The class can help you find time to exercise and stay motivated.
Once you and your coach have assessed your areas of needs, you will learn simple techniques to ease stress and make lasting changes that can improve the quality of your life.
