Zumba: So Much Fun, It Doesn’t Feel Like Exercise

This fun, fitness craze came to be when Columbian aerobics instructor Alberto "Beto" Perez forgot to bring his usual music to class. Needing to improvise he used the music he had in his backpack – the Salsa and Merengue music of his childhood. There’s no real way to count reps with that kind of soundscape. All you can do is let the music move you… 

It’s more dance party than exercise class, which is why people stick with it.  And it’s effective. The mixture of fast and slow rhythms with easy-to-follow moves creates the perfect foundation for interval training. You get a great aerobic workout while toning your legs, abs, glutes and arms.

Try a Yoga Class

Senior Systems Analyst Marie Wolfanger was initially intimidated about taking Yoga but she was motivated to increase her flexibility and get rid of some nagging aches. She started taking the Beginning Yoga class in September and four months later she wants to encourage others to find what she has found.  She said, "I am as inflexible as they come, but I continue to see noticeable improvements in my posture and range of motion."
