is more dance party than exercise class, which is why people stick with it. And it’s effective. The mixture of fast and slow rhythms with easy-to-follow moves creates the perfect foundation for interval training. You get a great aerobic workout while toning your legs, abs, glutes and arms.
Les Mills' is a world-renowned group exercise program that guides you through a motivating workout set to chart-topping music. Thrive is bringing two of Les Mills' most popular classes to our employees: BODYSTEP™ and BODYPUMP™.
BODYSTEP™ is the energizing step workout that gives you a high intensity, high calorie burn. Using a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get huge motivation from fun music and approachable instructors.
BODYPUMP™, the original LES MILLS™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast! BODYPUMP™ challenges all of your major muscle groups while you squat, press, lift and curl.
Registration for the first eight week session starts today and is FREE
to Rochester Regional Health System employees, however, spots are limited--so don't wait! To register--and learn more about these exciting classes--go to the Thrive website at: http://www.unityhealth.org/Thrive/Get_Moving/Classes.aspx

Maintain, Don't Gain Holiday Challenge
The average American consumes around 4,500 calories during Thanksgiving dinner (and that's only dinner -- the midnight leftovers are extra!) and can often gain up to five pounds over the holiday season. This year, Thrive wants you to keep enjoying your holiday foods while staving off the pounds with the Maintain Don't Gain
What it is:
Maintain Don't Gain
encourages you to keep an eye on what you're consuming over the holidays. Beginning November 11, participants will attend weigh-ins to make sure they're within two pounds of their weight at the start of the challenge. Raffle tickets will be awarded for both maintaining and losing pounds, to be entered for a grand prize of $500 and two second prizes of $250 each. ALL active team members are eligible to participate, and the challenge is free!
First weigh-in is November 11 (Required)
Interim weigh-in dates (must choose at least one)
Final weigh-in is January 6 (Required)
A representative from Rochester Athletic Club (RAC) will come on-site to a variety Unity campuses every Tuesday during the challenge (except 11/25) to do weigh-ins. Or you can stop at any RAC for Women on a Tuesday to weigh-in (men, too!).
What to do:
Complete the registration form
and return to the Thrive department via fax (368-4845), inter-office mail (POB Suite 301), scanned and e-mailed to email@example.com or dropped at any RAC for Women location.
And don't forget -- if you really want to kick up your routine this holiday season, sign up for one of our Les Mills, Zumba or yoga classes! Visit http://www.unityhealth.org/Thrive/Get_Moving/Classes.aspx
