Unity Recognizes Area’s Homeless with Service
WHAT: Unity Health System will hold its 7th annual “When Love Remembers Life” service to remember Rochester’s homeless who have lost their lives in 2013. The service includes speakers, proclamations from the city of Rochester and Monroe County recognizing the event, lighting of candles, and the reading of names of those that have lost their lives while living homeless. This event is part of National Homeless Person’s Memorial Day, which is held each year on December 21. Events around the country are sponsored by the National Coalition for the Homeless as a way to bring attention to homelessness and remember those who have lost their lives in the community.
WHO: Mayor-elect Lovely Warren and County Commissioner Kelly Reed will be present to deliver a proclamation during the service.
WHEN: Friday, December 20, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
