Cyclists Tour Stops at MS Achievement Center in Gates
WHO: The MS Great 8, a group of cyclists riding counter clockwise around Lake Ontario for seven days to raise money for, and awareness of, multiple sclerosis. Funds raised from the ride directly support the chapters of the National MS Society where the riders live. If the crew reaches this year’s fundraising goal of $200,000, it will push their overall fundraising total to the $1 million milestone. The MS Great 8 Foundation is captained by two cyclists from New York, Mike Zimits and Catherine Tsigakos, with a goal of inspiring those diagnosed with MS to take charge of their lives and not let MS control them.
WHAT: The MS Great 8 group will make a stop at Unity Health System’s MS Achievement Center, an adult day program that was the second of its kind in the nation, offering a unique blend of medical care and social interaction. The cyclists will have breakfast and tour the MS Achievement Center. Cyclists from the Great 8, National MS Society staff, staff from the MS Achievement Center and a client of the Center will be available for media interviews.
