Unity Announces Appointments - Bonanni, Haley, Lewish, Ianolli, Loveys

Unity Health System is pleased to announce new roles and appointments for several of its longtime leaders.
 
Philip Bonanni, M.D., has been appointed Chair of the Department of Medicine for Unity Hospital. Since 2004, Dr. Bonanni has served in many roles at Unity, including Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Medicine, Preceptor of Medical Residents in Unity Faculty Partners, and Director of Physician Assistant Education for the Department of Medicine.
 
Dr. Bonanni has also played an important role in the broader community and is highly respected throughout the Rochester medical community. He has been recognized by his colleagues many times, including twice with the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
 
Dr. Bonanni lives in Pittsford.
 
James Haley, M.D., has been appointedSenior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer. He has served as the Chair of the Department of Medicine for the last 11 years. As part of his new responsibilities, Dr. Haley’s leadership in Clinical Care Redesign and HCAHPS requirements will help to ensure Unity’s continued success through this time of unprecedented change in health care.
 
Dr. Haley lives in Fairport.
 
Gregory Lewish, M.D. has been appointed Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Unity Hospital. Dr. Lewish started at St. Mary’s in 1983 and has held several leadership positions within Unity including Chief of Orthopaedics in the Department of Surgery for the last four years. He is a member of the Medical Executive Committee, Chair of the Utilization Management Committee, and Chair of the Credentials-Bylaws Committee. In 2009, Dr. Lewish received the Physician Recognition award from his colleagues. In addition to his new role, he will also continue to see patients in his private orthopaedic practice at Westside Orthopaedics in Gates. 
 
Dr. Lewish lives in Brighton.
 
Pasquale Iannoli, M.D. has been selected to be Chief of the Division of General Surgery and Associate Chair of the Department of Surgery. Dr. Iannoli is a board-certified general surgeon at Westside Surgical Associates, LLP, Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Rochester, and is an instructor in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). He joined Unity Health System in 2000 and is a panel physician at Unity Wound Care Center. Dr. Iannoli earned his doctor of medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he also completed his residency. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and affiliate member of the Upstate New York Chapter.  
 
Dr. Iannoli lives in Greece.
 
Luke Loveys, M.D. has been elected as Chief of the Division of Orthopaedics at Unity Hospital. Dr. Loveys joined Unity Hospital in 2001 and has been a member of the Surgical Services Committee at Unity Hospital since 2004. His board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in general orthopaedics with a subspecialty in foot and ankle. Dr. Loveys participates every year in the Hearts to Soles campaign, a national non profit organization that provides the less fortunate people across the country free shoes and foot examinations.
 
Dr. Loveys lives in Pittsford.
