Farash Foundation, M&T Bank gifts Upgrade Unity Chemical Dependency’s Adolescent Community Residence
Young men recovering from substance abuse at Unity's Adolescent Community Residence (ACR) in Greece will see new upgrades to their learning facilities, thanks to donations from Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation and M&T Bank.
A gift of $12,500 from M&T Bank enables Unity to upgrade the ACR classroom with computer tables that double as conference tables, new bookcases, specialized furniture for a new reading area, books for reference and leisure reading, and supplies for a new art room.
From the Farash Foundation, $10,000 will purchase a smart board for classroom use, laptop computers and GED preparation software.
“These generous contributions will help give troubled teens a fighting chance at earning a GED and getting employed,” said Timothy Balconi, president of the Unity Health Foundation. “We are very grateful to the Farash Foundation and M&T Bank, both of which have taken the time to understand the challenges these young people face, and making the choice to help out.”
The facility improvements will be completed over the next few months.
