Park Ridge Auxiliary Accepting Donations for Lights of Love

The Park Ridge Auxiliary is now accepting donations for its annual Lights of Love campaign. This campaign and its lighting ceremony have raised funds for Unity Health System since 1988.

Lights of Love allows people to honor or memorialize a loved one with the purchase of a light, for a donation of $8. The lights are then strung on trees at the Unity Park Ridge and Unity St. Mary’s Campus. The names of all those honored are listed in a special book, which is available for viewing throughout the year.

Each year Lights of Love celebrates those being honored with a special lighting ceremony. This year’s lighting will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Education Center at Unity Hospital, 1555 Long Pond Road.

Before the lighting, guests will be treated to light refreshments and a performance by the St. Theodore Church Choir in the Education Center. Guests will then move outside to the front entrance of Unity Hospital for the lighting, and the singing of “Silent Night.” More than 8,500 lights have been purchased since the campaign started. The lights will remain lit throughout the holiday season.

The Park Ridge Auxiliary has donated over $4 million to Unity Health System for patient care, thanks to Auxiliary members who give countless hours of volunteer time for services, events, and activities throughout the year.

To purchase a Light of Love, call 723-7102, or visit www.unityhealth.org, click on About Unity, then Park Ridge Auxiliary, to download a form.
