Unity to Participate in Special Event for Local Cancer Survivors

Unity Health System Hematology/Oncology is pleased to participate in the 2nd annual Celebration of Cancer Survivorship.

Organized by the Community Cancer Collaborative, this year's celebration will be held at Seneca Park Zoo on Saturday, August 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The evening will include food, drinks and live music. At 7:00 p.m., cancer survivors will be asked to participate in "The Big Shot"-- an annual group photo of cancer survivors.

This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and available from Unity Health System. To get tickets, please call Mary Fran Kolbuc at 368-3172, or Jeannie Glanville at 723-7160.

The Community Cancer Collaborative is comprised of: American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, Camp Good Days, CURE Childhood Cancer Association, Genesee Valley Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society, Gilda’s Club, Highland Hospital, Interlakes Oncology and Hematology, Lipson Cancer Center at Rochester General Hospital, Pluta Cancer Center, Unity Health System, University of Rochester Medical Center, Wilmot Cancer Center.


Unity Health System provides a complete network of health care services from the Unity Park Ridge Hospital Campus in the town of Greece, the Unity St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, and at numerous other sites throughout Rochester and western Monroe County. Services include inpatient and outpatient hospital care and surgery, a family birth place, women’s health services, chemical dependency and mental health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, adult day health and home health programs for older adults, retirement communities, child care, and laboratory services, among many others.
