Free Car Seat Checks Offered at Park Ridge Child Care Center

Motor vehicle accidents are the number one killer of children under 14 years of age.  When properly installed, child car and booster seats prevent serious injury and death.  However, an estimated 80 percent of child car seats are installed incorrectly, according to the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration.

Park Ridge Child Care Center and Greece Safe Kids are offering a car seat inspection on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Park Ridge Child Care Center, located on the Unity Park Ridge Campus in Greece.  Law enforcement, firefighters and first responders affiliated with Greece Safe Kids will be on site to conduct car and booster seat checks, and offer safety advice.  The event is free and open to the public.

For more information, contact Officer Mark Dobner, coordinator of Greece Safe Kids, at 234-7953.
