Anonymous posted "smoking" 1/14/14 in the forum. Smoking is not recommended for people with diabetes. Tobacco narrows blood vessels and increases your risk of heart disease and may also progress other chronic disease conditions such as diabetes and kidney disease. It is also linked a various cancers. If you do smoke you may want to consider talking with your doctor about a smoking cessation program that will work for you. Unity Pulmonary is now providing smoking cessation classes designed to help you quit for good. For more information or to register, please call Janice Carges, Respiratory Therapist, at 368-4533.
