I am not personally familiar with The Medifast Weight Loss plan but upon reviewing their website it appears to require you to buy pre-formulated meals (packaged meals) that you eat as meal replacements to promote weight loss. They encourage you to follow their meal plan to meet your weight loss goal and then move to a transition phase (still using some of their meal replacement foods) and finally a maintenance phase transitioning back to your own meals. I would encourage you to talk with your health care provider before starting the Medifast or any other weight loss program to be sure it meets your medical and nutrition needs.
