It is true that a sliding scale is often used to provide people taking meal time insulin determine the proper dose of insulin to inject; your doctor will prescribe the proper sliding scale for you based on the amount of insulin you need to keep your blood sugar levels at optimum levels. This is determined individually. If you have questions about a sliding scale regimen that has been prescribed for you please discuss with your doctor or feel free to post further questions to the forum.
